Behind the Austrian Drumhead Company is one person:

Hans-Peter (HP) Kirbisser was born on January 6th, 1989 in Feldbach and grew up in the heart of the Styrian volcanic region in a very musical family. After the first steps in the local music school, it was clear very early on that his life would also be shaped by music. At the age of 14, Hans-Peter began the preparatory course for classical percussion at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz at the same time as he was at the music high school in Oberschützen, and at the age of 17 he began studying with Martin Kerschbaum. After graduating in IGP (instrumental and vocal pedagogy) and percussion in 2011, his path led him to the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz, where he graduated with honors from the Institute for Jazz and Improvised Music with Jeff Boudreaux and Herbert Pirker in autumn 2015. From 2017 to 2019, Hans-Peter completed his master’s degree in drums/percussion popular music at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Mario Lackner and in 2019 received the honorary award from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna for outstanding achievements. From autumn 2019 to spring 2020, Hans-Peter spent time abroad in Los Angeles (CA) and worked there with renowned musicians from the American music scene. From 2017 to 2019, Hans-Peter completed his master’s degree in drums/percussion popular music at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Mario Lackner and in 2019 received the honorary award from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna for outstanding achievements. From autumn 2019 to spring 2020, Hans-Peter spent time abroad in Los Angeles (CA) and worked there with renowned musicians from the American music scene. From 2017 to 2019, Hans-Peter completed his master’s degree in drums/percussion popular music at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Mario Lackner and in 2019 received the honorary award from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna for outstanding achievements.
