Adam Nussbaum


Adam did a masterclass at the MDW Vienna (University for music and performing arts Vienna) where he enjoyed Austrian Drumhead Company calfheads on his snaredrums.

Adam Nussbaum is a highly regarded American jazz drummer, known for his versatility, musicality, and deep sense of groove. Over his extensive career, Nussbaum has worked with many of the leading names in jazz, contributing his refined drumming style to a wide range of projects spanning straight-ahead jazz, fusion, and beyond.

Nussbaum’s work can be heard on numerous highly regarded recordings, including:

  • “Getting There” (1987) by John Abercrombie (featuring Michael Brecker) – A classic example of Nussbaum’s subtle yet powerful drumming.
  • “60, 75, 55” (2017) by The Impossible Gentlemen – A project that showcases Nussbaum’s versatility with a group blending jazz, rock, and folk influences.
  • “The Lead Belly Project” (2018) – His tribute to blues icon Lead Belly, in which Nussbaum explores the intersection of jazz and traditional American folk/blues.

Adam Nussbaum is widely admired for his ability to serve the music with taste and precision.
